Google has confirmed to find Engine Land that late a week ago, it pushed out a little update for thePanda filter. Over the pastabout a week, I have been tracking the complaints within the various forums, including the large ongoing thread at WebmasterWorld.
“We’re continuing to iterate on our Panda algorithm included inour resolve forreturning high-quality sites to Google users,” a Google spokesperson told us. “This most recentupdate is among the roughly 500 changes we make to ourranking algorithms each year,” Google added.
At first, I felt the complaints suggested that Google was doing rolling updates of Panda, compared Panda updates being manually pushed out. I was wrong, they'restill being pushed put manually, Google says.
Google told us “this update incorporates some new signals which help differentiate between higher- and lower-quality sites.” “Consequently, some sites are ranking higher after thismost recent update,” Google added.
