New Delhi: 1970’s the “Angry Young Man”, Amitabh Bachachan has precisely and modestly communicated that he would feel honoured to impersonate the character of the Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore, though, till date, he has not been prized with any opportunity to respond to any formal invitation from any production house fructifying his keen desire for setting another milestone at this stage of his professional career.

Coming to the City of Joy to promote his forthcoming movie ‘Aarakshan’, directed by Prakash Jha and focused to the Government’s polemical policy of caste based reservations in jobs and academic institutions, Mr. Bachachan has also narrated that somebody has recently extended him a proposal to impersonate the character of Tagore and off late, he has been intercepting some messages that only reveal support and encouragement for him to step ahead.

However, according to reports, Big B will play in the role of Rabindranath Tagore in a Bengali film bearing a title, “The Sound of Silence” picturing the Poet’s life and works treasured in the monumental oeuvre of immortal poems, paintings, short stories and plays.

Entrenching the sentimental point some critics say that Bachachan misses the good looks of Rabinranath Tagore and the superstar’s gait is not likely to be feeding the life-style of saintly person like Rabindranath Tagore. His filmy art and the tall, brooding personality are miles apart from the poet’s writings paintings and music.

Anyway, we shall remain eager to look forward to Big B reaching to the expectation of Bengal to see him portraying Tagore in Bengali film.
